Zara opens its second store in Oslo
The Inditex Group today opens its second Zara store in Oslo. The new store in the Norwegian capital is located at Tostrupgården, one of the most prominent buildings in Karl Johan, the prime commercial street in the city.
The store has more than 1,200 sqm of retail space spread over three floors. The main access leads to the store ground floor, entirely dedicated to women wear. Men collection can be found on the basement and the second floor is devoted to children wear. The store starts to operate with the new Zara Spring-Summer 2008 collection. It is the first store in the world showing the new collection in full.
Zara’s architectural team has applied to this store the global Zara’s image and layout conceived for the most recent openings worldwide. Moreover, the project has enhanced the architectural characteristics of the building. The Tostrupgården, located opposite the Norwegian Parliament dates from the end of the 19th century, and is one of the most distinctive historicist-style buildings in Oslo.
This launching means a step forward in the Inditex’s expansion in Norway, where the Group is present with four stores. Inditex started to operate in this country in 1997 with a Massimo Dutti store. At present, this format has two stores in Oslo. Zara arrived in Norway in 2006. For 2008, Inditex plans a new Zara opening in Norway at the Kolbotn Tog shopping area.
The Inditex Group is present in 68 markets with more than 3,670 stores.
