  • Energy audits carried out by external organisations to evaluate energy flows in the company’s own industrial and logistical installations which have been operating for more than three years.
  • Installation of renewable energy generation equipment in the logistics centres in Meco (Madrid), Zaragoza and León.
  • Minimising emissions via fuel substitution (natural gas for fuel oil) at the logistics centres in Sallent de Llobregat (Barcelona) and Arteixo (A Coruña).
  • Installation of a 2.5 MW self-consumption cogeneration plant for the production of electrical and thermal energy at the logistics platform in Tordera (Barcelona).

  • Incorporation of electrical vehicles for transporting maintenance and service personnel within our logistics platforms.

The Carbon Footprint Project. An Analysis of the Life Cycle of Textile.

  • Development of a tool to analyse the negative environmental impact of production processes for implantation in the company’s own manufacturing centres.

Sustainable Store (Store Sustainability System)

  • New times for lighting window displays, with an estimated 10% reduction in energy consumption and indirect emissions.
  • Integral control of waste generated by the activity of Zara stores in Spain by authorised management companies.
  • Introduction of more efficient lighting systems to all new and refurbished stores, thereby reducing the use of energy and materials.
  • Reduction in temperature variations and their impact on consumption.
  • Specific training for store staff.
